Proper storage protects both the product’s quality and the people in your household.

Keep cannabis in its original child-resistant packaging until you are ready to use it. If you transfer it to another container, use an airtight, opaque vessel, such as a glass jar with a locking lid, stored away from heat, light, and humidity. A cool, dark cupboard works well. Avoid the refrigerator, where condensation degrades flower and edibles faster than room-temperature storage does.

The most critical storage rule is accessibility. Cannabis must be kept out of reach of children and pets at all times. A locked box or a high, latched cabinet is the standard approach. Edibles are a particular risk because they look identical to ordinary food. Never leave them loose in a kitchen drawer or on a counter.

Label your storage container clearly, especially if you have multiple products. Note the product name, THC/CBD content, and purchase date. Cannabis flower stays fresh for roughly six months to a year when stored correctly; edibles follow the best-before date on the original packaging
